Sunday, July 29, 2018 — Nelson County EMS and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched Saturday evening to the 4000 block of Deatsville Road for a report of a woman in her 40s with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
At 7:43 p.m., EMS and police were dispatched for a report of a woman at a Deatsville Road home saying she had shot herself. Police and EMS arrived to find the woman with an apparent gunshot wound. She was treated by EMS at the scene before she was transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital to meet with a medical helicopter. She was flown from Flaget to University Hospital.
The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
