Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, 11:30 a.m. — The Rolling Fork Fire Department responded to a reported house fire in the 2800 block of Nelsonville Road at 4:17 Sunday morning. First-responders reported heavy smoke coming from the two-story home when they arrived. Mutual aid in the form of a tanker truck and manpower was requested from the Boston Fire Department. The home’s occupants evacuated the home safely. A Nelson County EMS ambulance was on standby at the fire scene. Firefighters were on the scene for about 4 hours.
