STAFF REPORT
Monday, April 28, 2014, 4 p.m. — A single vehicle accident sent a 22-year-old woman to the hospital Monday around 1:45 p.m. after the Mazda van she was driving left Loretto Road and struck a utility pole.
Police and Nelson County EMS responded to the reported accident at about 1 p.m. The broken utility pole dropped electrical lines down across Loretto Road, closing the road for almost an hour. One lane was opened to traffic once the utility company arrived to begin repairs.
The driver was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital complaining of nose and lip pain.
