Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, 10:50 a.m. – A report of heavy smoke in the area of Bardstown Mills, 304 Muir, prompted a response by Bardstown firefighters. A police officer on scene confirmed heavy smoke in the area, and some light smoke inside. Firefighters determined the smoke was generated by a wood stove operated by employees and there were no problems or issues with its operation. The fire department response was canceled.
