Saturday, June 15, 2013, 12:10 p.m. –– The Bardstown Fire Department was called Saturday morning to a vehicle fire west of Exit 25 in the westbound lanes of the Blue Grass Parkway. Firefighters and Bardstown Police responded to the call about 10:45 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find a red Mercury Mountaineer fully involved in flames.
Police shut the parkway to allow firefighters to access the fire scene via the exit ramp. Firefighers were on scene for about 30 minutes. The vehicle was a total loss. The parkway was reopened to traffic at about 11:20 a.m.
