Friday, Marcy 18, 2011, 2:10 a.m. — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office investigated a non-injury accident about 1:45 Friday morning that left some Farmaway Drive residents without power.
A white 1999 Ford F-150 four-wheel drive truck crashed into a utility pole near the intersection of Farmaway Drive and Poplar Flat Road, snapping the pole off. The driver of the truck fled the scene before police arrived; a witness reported the truck’s occupants were throwing what appeared to be bottles out of the truck. The truck was left abandoned in the yard of a Farmaway Drive resident. At press time police were continuing to search for the driver.
