Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 2:33 a.m. — Two 17-year old boys were injured early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash near the Balltown community on US31E south of Bardstown near the bottom of Helsinki Hill.
Nelson County EMS and police responded at 1:20 Tuesday morning to the crash scene to find one victim out of the vehicle and the second trapped inside the overturned vehicle. The Bardstown Fire Department responded to free the driver, who was partly ejected in the rollover crash. The driver was taken by EMS ambulance to the Nelson County Fairgrounds where he was transferred to a medical helicopter and airlifted to University Hospital. The second teen suffered a cut to the head and was taken by EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment.
