Two arrested Derby Day after clocked at twice the speed limit

Sunday, May 6, 2012, 1:25 p.m. — Two men were arrested Derby Day afternoon when police clocked their car traveling at more than 90 mph in a 45 mph speed zone on North Third Street near Delaney’s Grocery. The 28-year-old driver was arrested for speeding; his 22-year-old passenger had active warrants in Nelson and Spencer counties. The men were in a passenger car with Kansas registration plates. Both men were lodged in the Nelson County Jail. Bardstown Police officers stopped the car at about 5:2 5 p.m. Saturday.
