Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, 10:10 a.m. — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office and Nelson County EMS responded Wednesday morning to a two-vehicle crash on Springfield Road at the Poplar Flat intersection. The accident was reported at about 8:18 a.m. involving a semi tractor-trailer and a Cadillac SUV. The accident was initially reported as a non-injury one, but police called for EMS due to some of the Cadillac’s passengers having facial lacerations. Three people refused transport by EMS. The accident slowed traffic on Springfield Road for about 90 minutes.
