Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, 11:59 p.m. — A vehicle fire snarled after-school traffic Wednesday afternoon on West John Rowan Boulevard as the result of a non-injury two-vehicle collision. The accident and fire were reported at about 3:40 Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of West John Rowan. The Bardstown Police Department and Bardstown Fire Department responded to the scene. Police reported that three extinguishers discharged to try to slow the fire were ineffective. Three of the four lanes of traffic were temporarily blocked while emergency crews worked the scene. Firefighters were on the scene for about 20 minutes.
