Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, 11 a.m. — A 23-year-old woman was injured Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash on Springfield Road near Bloomfield. Nelson County EMS, police and the Northeast Nelson Fire Department responded to the crash, which was located about a quarter of a mile north of the U.S. 62 “Y.” The car left the roadway, ran through a fence into a field and rolled over. The victim got out of the car, which subsequently caught fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and assisted EMS. The woman was transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital with head pain and a possible head laceration.
