Thursday, June 27, 2013, 11:55 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called Thursday morning to a structure fire in the 3800 block of Woodlawn road near the old Woodlawn store. Firefighters were called at 6:40 a.m. and found heavy flames visible from the rear of the home with heavy smoke when they arrived.
Additional manpower and fire equipment were requested from the Northeast Nelson Fire Department. Firefighters reported they had the fire under control by 7:25 a.m. Fire crews were on scene for an extended period of time while they checked the structure for hot spots and conducting salvage operation.
