To the editor:
I am writing this letter to endorse Sgt. Jarren Culver for Nelson County Sheriff. Jarren was born and raised in Nelson County and is raising his expanding family there as well.

I have gotten to know Jarren over the past couple of years through my work as a special prosecutor on unsolved homicides in Nelson County. He has become someone that I rely upon to help me investigate these matters. His knowledge of the Nelson County community coupled with this work ethic has proven invaluable to the success we have had in these special prosecutions, and that we hope to continue to have on these cases.
I have been a prosecutor for the Commonwealth of Kentucky for approximately 23 years and an attorney for nearly 30 years. It has been a rarity that I encounter a police officer that has all the attributes needed to run a county-wide department. Sgt. Jarren Culver possesses these attributes. His leadership style is ownership. He takes responsibility for himself, those around him, and his community. He is aware of the resources and support law enforcement needs to be successful and he has made this a priority.
His focus in running for sheriff is a desire to make Nelson County a safe community for everyone. Jarren has earned my trust and respect, not through words, but through actions.
Please vote for Jarren Culver on Nov. 3, 2026, for Nelson County Sheriff. A vote for Jarren is a vote for a safer Nelson County.
