James Bernard Rivera, 58, of Magnolia, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist 
Church in Magnolia. He was born Oct. 2, 1956, to the late David and Guadalope “Lupie” Rivera in Los Angeles, Calif. He was a retired police officer and retired firefighters before moving to Magnolia with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Enid S. Rivera.
Survivors include two sisters, Wand Rivera and Irene Rivera, both of California; his caregivers, G.W. and Joyce Matthews of Magnolia; and several cousins and friends.
The funeral is 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
Visitation is prior to the service at the nursing home.
The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville, is in charge of arrangements.
