Obituary: Jeff Wright Thompson, 88, Bloomfield

Jeff Wright Thompson, 88, of Bloomfield, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at Jewish Hospital of Shelbyville. He was born July 7, 1927, in Bourbon County to the late Ernest and Willie Mae VanHook Thompson. He was a former employee of Fischer’s Packing Co., a farmer, and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.

He is survived by two daughters, Cathy Elaine John of Florida, and Charleen Rowe of Cynthania; four sons, Gary Walker Thompson of Mount Washington, Michael Wayne Thompson and James Keith Thompson, both of Bloomfield, and Ernest Wright Thompson of Taylorsville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen by the family. There will be no public visitation. Inurnment will take place in Bourbon County at a later date.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
