Obituary: Joseph Bernard LaFollette, 72, Lyons Station

Joseph Bernard LaFollette, 72, of Lyons Station, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic church in funeral_candleNew Haven. He was born Nov. 8, 1942, in Icetown to the late Roy Edgar and Mary Ethel Dones LaFollette. He was retired from the LaFollette Body Shop in Lyons Station and farming, which he loved.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, R.E. LaFollette and T.C. LaFollette; and three sisters, Frances LaFollette, Arlene Hinkle and Estelle Dennis.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Coy LaFollette of Lyons Station; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Cecil (Dean) and Melissa Jo LaFollette, both of Lyons Station; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015, 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2015, and 8:30-11 a.m. Monday, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 North Main St. in New Haven is in charge of the arrangements.
