Obituary: Mary Theresa Winfield, 98, Manton

Mary Theresa Winfield, 98, of Manton, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She was born Nov. 28, 1916, in Manton. She was a former homemaker and was the oldest member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Manton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Eugene Winfield; her parents, Anthony Columbus “Cull” Reed and Anna Catherine Graves Reed; two sisters, Margaret Smith and Mary Sallie Neel; and three brothers, George Edward Reed, Richard Leo Reed and Robert Hughes Reed.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Kidwell (John) of Manton; one son, Joseph Edward “Lightning” Winfield (Mary Alice) of Loretto; and four grandchildren, Bridgett Kidwell and Bernadette Kidwell Byrum (James), all of Lexington, and Cathy Winfield and Charlie Winfield, both of Loretto.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 6964 Cissellville Road, Manton, with the Rev. Matthew Hardesty officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Pallbearers are George Graves, Joe Kelty, Kevin Nally, Eddie Reed, Tony Reed, David Taylor.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
