Owen Lee Maddox, 68, formerly of Fairfield, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 in Brandon, Fla. He was born Feb. 17, 1947, in Fairfield. He was a retired truck driver for Teamsters Local 89 and a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.


He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Maddox; one son, Gregory Wayne Maddox; his father, John Owen Maddox; and two brothers, Randy Maddox and Rodney Maddox.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Harwell Maddox of Valrico, Fla.; one daughter, Monica Maddox of Louisville; one son, Adurrahman Yusuf “Chris” Maddox of Louisville; his mother, Mary Lee Hickman Maddox of Bloomfield; two stepsons, Darrell Harwell and Brian Harwell, both of Florida; two sisters, Judy Maxwell of Louisville and Anita Joyce Scott of Lexington; four brothers, John Caleb “Butch” (Darcy) Maddox of Louisville, and Gary (Margaret) Maddox and Chris Mason, both of Bardstown and Glen (Sally) Maddox of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Bardstown with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and after 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. the church.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Rd., is in charge of arrangements.
