Susan Schlegel Gordon, 56, of Bardstown, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born Dec. 12, 1958, in Mount Clemons, Mich. She was a teacher for the Bardstown Independent Schools and a former marketer for the Louisville Courier-Journal. She was a graduate of 
Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. She was a founding member and board member of Bethany Haven, and a member of the Nelson County Jaycees. She was a past executive director of the Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce, the former financial development director at St. Catharine College in Springfield, and past member of Bardstown Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter William Schlegel Jr.
She is survived by her husband, John Logan Gordon; two sons, John Logan Gordon III, and Andrew Scott Gordon, both of Bardstown; her mother, Ruth M. Schlegel, of Bardstown; one sister, Linda Schlegel Rigdon of Northville, Mich.; one brother, Scott Schlegel of Hurricane, Utah; her mother-in-law, Mary Helen Gordon of Springfield; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service is 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Stith officiating.
Visitation is 10 a.m.-noon and 2-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may go to Bethany Haven, Salvation Army of Marion or Nelson County, or a scholarship for Bardstown High School student who will attend St. Catharine College, c/o Town & Country Bank, Bardstown.
