William Lee “Bill” Hardin III, 73, of Bardstown, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2015 at University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born April 24, 1942, in Nelson County. He was a retired mechanic for Joe Livers Body Shop and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.


He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lee Hardin II and Mary Florene Hardin; and one sister, Shirley Kirsch.
He is survived by his son, William Joseph Hardin of Bardstown; one daughter, Donna (Morris Keene) Thompson of Bloomfield; his ex-wife and mother of his children, Barbara Hardin of Bardstown; two sisters, Mary Frances Greenwell and Bernice (Val) Coomes, both of Bardstown; three grandchildren, Jeanna Thompson, Johnathan Thompson, and Dakota Edelen; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and one nephew.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jason Harris will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
