Margaret Ann Whitson, 78, of Bardstown, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at her residence. She was born October 21, 1932, in Greenbrier, was a former employee of Owens-Illinois, retired from Vic-Tone Cleaners and was a member of St. Joseph Parish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Ray Whitson, a son, John Whitson; her parents, James Ivo “Bo” and Mary Emma Avis Bartley; and a brother, James Ivo Bartley, Jr..
She is survived by three sons, Bill (Debbie) Whitson of Bloomfield, Tim Whitson and Dwain Whitson, both of Bardstown; two daughters, Stacy Whitson and Vanessa Whitson, both of Bardstown; a sister, Frances Dragoo; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral. Buril will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will celebrate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. A prayer service will be 6 p.m. Tuesday evening conducted by Deacon John Hamilton.
