WBRT named finalist in state broadcast association’s ‘Uniquely Kentucky’ award

Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026 — WBRT Radio in Bardstown has been announced as a top three finalist for the 2026 “Uniquely Kentucky” award by the Kentucky Broadcasters Association.

The award recognizes an outlet for the essential role it plays in the communities it serves through its hometown coverage, including local news, sports, weather, interviews, announcements, and more. Judging for the award was completed by an independent organization with broadcast experts in other states outside Kentucky.

WBRT will compete for the top honor against two strong statewide public radio stations: WEKU in Richmond and WUKY in Lexington.

The award winner will be announced on Sunday evening, October 25th, at the Kentucky Broadcasters Association Awards Dinner at the Galt House in Louisville. It will be a busy night for WBRT – General Manager Roth Stratton will also be inducted into the Kentucky Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame.
